Birthday Bash + Beach Babe

Finn's first time in the sand!!

For our birthdays this year, my Dad took Chels, Finn, + I to San Diego, California. (I know, we are totally spoiled!) I warned my Dad that this would probably be a different trip since we had a 4 months old tagging along. He insisted that he would be there to help and we should go have some fun.  It was a chance for us to get away and enjoy the sunshine state! Finn was an absolute dream on the flight....the rest of the trip continued to go up from there. 

We stayed at the most beautiful resort next to the ocean. We ate like kings, explored the coast, lounged on the beach, relaxed at the hotel, and enjoyed each others' company. We found ourselves laughing frequently---from the intimate sister/couples massages, the awkward hot tub encounters to cute Finn moments and hilarious conversations before bed. It was so refreshing to break from the daily monotony to explore a beautiful city for the weekend. 

The most beautiful thing to me, however, was to see how sweet and loving Chelsea and my Dad were with Finn.  Chelsea jokes that Finn is quite possibly the most loved, adored, kissed baby on the entire planet...well aside from Prince Charles. that is :) He is sure loved. This weekend was full of many unknowns, including many of "Finn's Firsts" (flights, climate change, beach/pool, hotel, etc.), but it totally rocked because these two couldn't have been better travel partners. As you can tell by the photos, they love Finn like their own and went out of their ways to make this trip enjoyable for us. We all had so much fun together and it was a deep breathe of fresh air.  Not to mention, Finn LOVED the sand and the ocean--a child after my own heart. The water was still a bit too cold for him to splash around in but we sure enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. Ocean, you better believe we are coming back for you....we can't bare to stay away from you much longer. :) Not to mention, I am obsessed with Finn's swim getup! ;)
