We Be Cruisin'

Sometimes you just need to get away! After working really hard this last year, Cars and I promised ourselves we would do something fun (and knowing us, probably spontaneous) this summer. Last summer we did this! With the craziness of summer, our calendars were quickly filling-up. Two weeks ago, we were scrolling through different deals when we came across a cruise--all inclusive! Do you want to go on a cruise? we were sold. our first cruise together.

Last weekend, we drove 10 hours--straight--to California. we were tired but we were out...out under the big, open sky and it felt soo good! The cruise. It was a riot! Nearly everything is done for you--even your bed is made twice a day! We ate, slept, read, and did whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. We spent the days exploring @ the different ports and ate like KINGS for dinner. After which, we laughed + cheered at the various evening entertainment. The sun was shining and the company was oh so good, just me + my babe!

First Stop: Catalina Island

It is a beautiful, little island. we explored the darling streets, basked in the sunshine + snorkeled!!!!!
The white sand, blue water, and bright colorful fish make quite the perfect combo.

Next Stop: Ensenada, Mexico

So instead of paying an arm + a leg to ride a horse for 20 minutes...along w/ the other cruisers [one of the many [overpriced] excursions...] we decided to go into the city and find a local bike shop to rent a scooter. We cruised along the coast and the inner-parts of the city. Experiencing other cultures is truly fascinating. It was refreshing to get away from the haggling, touristy port. It was just me, Cars, + Ensenada.

Upon leaving the shop owner shouted.....There are no speed limits or real traffic regulations. Stray dogs are everywhere ! The map he gave us was "missing some of the streets and main sights" Good Luck! ....So as long as we were not hit /or damaged the bike and we came back in time, we were exempt from their excessive charges! I would be lying if I told you I wasn't a wee bit nervous jumping right into traffic....nothing a little confidence and assertiveness can't handle, right?

unfortunately, the guy was right...the map had a few "holes" and we ended up in the epitome of "the middle of nowhere"...

Good news. we made it back to the ship in time...(with my newest purchase!):
cruise selfie ^^

It was in every sense of the word: REFRESHING!
I felt like a free bird. happy and at peace. Loving every minute w/ the person that has become my entire world!

On the way back, we stopped by to see good friends, family, and a wonderful wedding! Also..if you have the chance, go see the Little Mermaid @ Tuacahn (thx Momma). It is aaaaaaamazing!
Now back to reality....
